*NEW - Doula Support Services

Starting Summer 2023 Great Futures will start offering Doula Support

Pregnant mommies can now receive Doula support through our certified Doula who is also a registered nurse!!!

So what does a Doula do???

A doula is a professional pregnancy companion whose goal is to help families have a safe, healthy and positive labor experience. Doulas provide emotional, physical, and educational support to expecting mothers or those who have recently given birth. Doulas offer encouragement, advice, and comfort to new mothers. They stay with the mother throughout labor and perform “Virtual” home visits after the baby is born.

What are the Do's and Don't of a Doula

Doulas are not medical professionals, and the following tasks are not performed by doulas: They do not perform clinical tasks such as vaginal exams, deliver baby, or fetal heart monitoring. They do not give medical advice or diagnose conditions. They do not make decisions for the client (medical or otherwise)

So what services will I receive from my Great Futures Doula

· Collaborate  with other members of your healthcare team such as OB provider, nurses, and midwives

· Provide emotional support to the client throughout the prenatal period and during childbirth
